An (Sr.) Analyst/Engineer in Performance Compliance assures the reliable, economic, and coordinated operation of the client in accordance with Operating Principles and Standards and applicable Regional and NERC Operating Policies.
The (Sr.) Analyst/Engineer, Performance Compliance supports this mission by assembling and analyzing key generator cost data and documenting the results. Key activities include the following:
- Review and approve generation unit variable operations and maintenance (VOM) costs in accordance with Operating Agreement and Manual 15 rules.
- Coordinate with generation owners on required VOM data submittal.
- Document VOM review process notes and approvals in Cost Agent application.
Essential Functions:
- Support activities under the leadership of other staff members to achieve Performance Compliance objectives include: VOM data analysis and approvals.
- Coordinate, as necessary, with staff, Generation Owners and Market Monitor on VOM reviews and approvals.
- Prepares reports and presentations as necessary to support activities associated with the Market Services Division.
Characteristics & Qualifications:
Required:
- BS degree in Engineering, Business, Computer Science or equivalent work experience
- Ability to produce high-quality work products with attention to detail
- Knowledge and/or work experience in power plant operations and/or plant cost accounting
Preferred:
- At least 5 years of experience power system industry experience
- At least 5 years of experience working at or directly with generation plant operations.
- Experience with operations, markets, and planning functions
- Experience with Agreements and Tariffs
