POSITION SUMMARY
As a Technical Manager you are responsible for building up a new part of the Service Organization of Vertiv Benelux. The current Service Organization consists of a Power branch and a Thermal branch. An additional branch will be added to support the organization in the area of Switch Gear. It specifically concerns support in the field of commissioning and preventive and corrective maintenance.
It will initially be a hands-on job, in which commissioning, and maintenance must be carried out independently. However, the focus will also be on expanding this new branch, whereby new employees and subcontractors have to be selected and have to be managed.
You build and maintain a good relationship with our customers, and you have daily contact with the planning department, work preparation and colleagues. Whether you are working on-site or from your home workplace, you ensure a visible service-oriented customer support.
RESPONSIBILITIES
You are task-oriented and present:
As Technical Manager Switch Gear in the Benelux/Belgium you are responsible for the repair and maintenance of Vertiv equipment at mainly hyperscale customers in the Amsterdam region. In addition, you will lead a team that is yet to be built. In this role you report to the Service Manager Benelux. You have an affinity with data centers, computer and control rooms and you maintain an overview at all times. You carry out the work in a safe manner and in accordance with the established safety policy. Control of the executed assignment is complete and accurate. You register your activities online or on paper. You are proactive and always look for the best solution. You ensure optimal technical support for the customer. You are the first point of contact for our customer(s) and therefore the business card of our company.
Collaboration is of high importance:
You work closely with the Service Manager on setting up the new organization, with the planning on execution of preventive and corrective maintenance and with the Projects department on hands-on new construction projects. You inform them about the progress of your work. Together with these colleagues, you ensure that the customer is number 1.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
You have a completed HBO education in electrical engineering or an MBO 4 education in electrical engineering with sufficient work experience. It is an advantage if you have a diploma in power electronics. VCA-VOL and NEN 3140 safety certificates are also necessary. You should have them or you are prepared to obtain them. You have a driving license B.
Experience:
You have at least 5 years of experience working in a technical service environment. Affinity with data centers, electronics/electrical environment and computers is necessary. You have experience in:
- Servicing/commissioning/maintenance and repair of LV switchgear
- Experience testing switchgear using secondary/primary injection
- Understanding of protection settings and tripping curves
- Also knowledge of fire suppression and fire alarm systems is recommended.
You are stress resistant and can hold your own in the (data center) construction world. In addition, you have a good network in the electrical industry from which you can build the new Switch Gear organization.
Knowledge:
You have a positive attitude and flexibility in a rapidly changing environment, strong customer service communication and interaction skills.
Language skills:
You speak Dutch and English well.
