Position: - OSP Fielder
Location: - North Texas, (Onsite role)
Job Description:
Verveba Telecom is looking for experienced fielders to support long term OSP/Fiber Design (FTTx) projects in multiple markets across the United States. The job requires the fielders to work on the ground performing surveys/field audits, gather ground information (in form of taking notes, pictures, measurements, etc.), interact/coordinate with design engineers, city officials and project managers. Projects may include IFP, ASE and BAU activities.
Skill Sets
- Understanding for Utilities (Electric, Gas, Water, Sewage, Fiber, etc.) – aerial and buried/underground
- Understanding of OSP Wireline systems, guidelines, and processes
- Understanding of City utilities, manholes, handholes, pedestals, conduits, and conduit designs
- Understanding of utility poles, pole loading and locates
- Understanding of ROW permit requirements from Cities
- Be able to read work prints and outputs from drafting tools/software like AutoCAD or similar
- Be able to use mapping tools while fielding/surveying including Google Earth/Maps
- Be able to use measuring tools like range finders, measuring wheels, poles, etc
- Be able to work 100% on the field, walking through areas being surveyed while carrying the measuring tools, and taking notes and pictures
- Be able to communicate effectively in English over phone, emails, and in-person
- Be able to travel frequently and work with flexible schedules
Required Qualifications
- Relevant experience in fielding and understanding of utilities (refer to skill sets)
- Ability of working on the field and travel
- Valid US Driver License
- Pass Drug Test and Background Test
Contract length: 12 months
Job Types: Full-time, Contract
Salary: $35.00 - $40.00 per hour
