Responsibilities
- Supervise the daily operations of NH’s Highway Team in developing Roadway and Active Transportation projects.
- Manage a team of Engineers and Project Managers.
- Carry out supervisory responsibilities, including planning, assigning, and directing work; evaluating performance; coaching and mentoring; training staff and resolving problems.
- Responsible for preparation of proposals, plans, specifications, cost estimates, reports, and final bid packages.
- Performs business and client development activities, including leveraging relationships with municipal and agency clients.
- Promotes continuous quality monitoring and improvement.
- Act as a Project Manager for a variety of projects.
Skills and Attributes
- Advanced knowledge of local, state, and federal regulations related to Roadway and Active Transportation design.
- Strong technical and critical thinking skills. Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively, partner, influence, consult, and collaborate with all levels within the organization.
- Advanced skills with Microsoft Office Suite, CADD and Modeling. MicroStation, InRoads and OpenRoads skills are a plus.
- Superb skills in project and client relationship management and collaborative problem solving with stakeholders, clients, and teammates.
- Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal communication and time management skills.
- Self-motivated, highly organized, and detail oriented.
Qualifications
- 10 years of professional experience in Transportation/Highway Engineering
- B.S. in Civil Engineering is required
- Prior experience with NHDOT and municipal project experience is preferred
- Prior supervisory experience required
- New Hampshire PE license required, (or the ability to obtain one within one year)
