Phlebotomy Technician

Job Location: Human Nutrition Research Center USDA located at430 West Health Sciences Dr, Davis, CA 95616

Shift: 8 hours shift – 2 weeks a month

Requirement:

• Licensed by the California Department of Public Health, Lab Field Services.
• Completion of a phlebotomy training program and certification.
• Previous experience in phlebotomy or a related field is often preferred.
• Proficiency in venipuncture and specimen collection techniques.
• Effective communication with patients to alleviate anxiety and obtain accurate information.
• Precision in labeling and handling specimens to ensure accuracy.
• Compliance with safety protocols and infection control measures.

Duties:

• Performing date entry.
• Ensuring all inquiries and problems are handled in a professional manner.
• Collect and label blood specimens accurately.
• Adhere to safety protocols and infection control measures.
• Maintain and clean phlebotomy equipment.
• Record patient information and test results accurately.
• Ensure specimen integrity and accuracy of labeling.
• Collaborate with healthcare team members regarding patient care.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 24 per week

Healthcare setting:

• Nursing home

Schedule:

• Day shift
• Monday to Friday
• Weekends as needed
