Main Job Responsibilities
- Develop a continuous improvement culture, skills sets and tools to enhance quality and operational excellence.
- Align manufacturing engineering human capital and financial resources to support business objectives.
- Drive business results improvements, throughput increase, scrap reduction, overall COG’s reduction, and enhanced safety.
- Responsible for evaluating and recommending new technologies to support new and existing product lines.
- Manage functions to ensure that activities are performed in compliance with Viant’s Quality System requirements and EHS policies.
- Oversee the execution of production process qualifications, product line validations, and product qualifications.
- Continuous optimization of engineering throughput using lean and agile techniques.
- Organizes interdepartmental activities, ensuring completion of the project on schedule and within budget constraints to deliver the business solution to our customers.
- Continuous improvement of engineering systems (e.g., CAD, PDM, DFx, simulation, rapid prototyping) in support of rapid product development.
- Coordinates activities with outside suppliers and consultants to ensure the delivery of supplies or services needed to meet scheduled timelines.
- Translate high-level business objectives into tactical solution plans and execute on those tactical plans to overcome obstacles and deliver on key results.
- Promote a positive team culture that focuses on innovative and rigorous development.
- Participate in the guidance & evaluation of team members’ annual and mid-year career development plans, which aligns with growth opportunities and Viant Values.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor of science degree in Engineering or related discipline, advanced degree preferred
- Job Experience:
- 8 years of manufacturing work experience in a regulated industry required, preferably in a medical device environment.
- 6 years of supervisory experience required
- Well-versed in FDA, ISO, and OSHA compliance issues.
- Strong leader, clear communicator, and highly organized project manager using lean techniques: critical chain project management, information theory, risk management.
- Excellent interpersonal, conflict resolution and team building skills with the ability to influence on both technical and personal levels.
- Knowledgeable in capital equipment productization and evolution within QMS and in a manufacturing environment.
- Strong understanding of FDA and ISO guidelines for the development of medical devices.
- Technical knowledge in development methodologies, design, and project implementation as it pertains to medical device manufacturing.
- Demonstratable track record in creative problem solving.
- Direct experience in leading characterization, design of experiments and data analysis methodologies (T-test, ANOVA and significance testing at a minimum).
- Expert with technical documentation (Ex., publications, engineering reports, IQ/OQ/PQ’s, Standard Operating Procedures, test protocols, etc.).
- Advanced knowledge in MS Office and Excel / Minitab.
- Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification preferred.
