What are the responsibilities and job description for the HR Generalist position at Viant?
The HR Generalist will be a key member of the Plant Leadership Team responsible for supporting the ongoing transformation to best in class contract manufacturing company. This person will have the opportunity to create platforms, work on staff-development, and partner with the Director of Operations on strategic vision. The site HR is a part of a greater HR team and collaborate with the other 17 U.S sites. The Indy site is a medical device manufacturer with approximately 100 associates across 2 shifts.
The Human Resources Generalist helps to manage the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources department. The HR Generalist carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: benefits administration, employee relations, organizational development, training and development, compensation, performance management, onboarding, policy implementation, recruitment/employment, Human Resources Information Systems, affirmative action and employment law compliance.
Main Job Responsibilities:
Assists in the direct labor recruitment process including screening, setting up interviews and offer letter generation
Assists in conducting new hire orientation and onboarding process for all direct labor employees
Processes terminations, including exit interviews, appropriate system changes and analysis of data
Point of contact for all employees on questions and issues such as policies, benefit enrollment options, claims processing, locker assignments, etc.
Assists the HR team with employee appreciate events, recognition, and other employee marketing communications
Assists with coordinating companywide meetings, all employee meetings, open enrollment meetings and Human Resources programs and activities
Assists with the direct labor hourly performance review process through document revision and distribution.
Assist in the preparation of attendance tracking reports and attendance corrective process
Responsible for integrity of all data regarding Viant Medical employees in systems such as Dayforce
Maintains the latest knowledge base of Human Resources legal issues and ensures the organization’s adherence to all relevant employment laws/practices
Ability to support three shifts when needed between two sites
Filing and copying as needed
Performs other duties as assigned
Knowledge/Education:
Bachelor’s Degree in business, Human Resources or a related field preferred.
Job Experience:
3-5 years’ experience working with various roles and areas of Human Resources
Experience in payroll processing, staffing/recruitment, benefits administration, performance management systems, employee relations, training and individual and organizational development
