Job Description
We are a growing Montrose cafe looking for someone to lead our kitchen team, help streamline our operations and grow with us into additional locations and a line of retail products. This is an opportunity to work in a very collaborative environment with a shared creative process, and to step out of typical roles within the traditional restaurant paradigm. Prior experience as a chef or kitchen manager as well as fine dining exposure are both requirements to be considered.
We have an awesome BOH team in place and our ideal addition is someone who can:
- Price, batch, train and execute new dishes developed through collaborations with outside chefs and creators
- Draw on their experience, or has an openness to learn how to approach all food operations through the lens of nourishment
- Hire, train and provide continuing education for all positions in the kitchen
- Consistently work to improve sourcing, food and labor costs, and menu consistency
- Be responsible for thorough supervision of food safety, equipment issues and maintenance
- Implement a system and set standards for cleanliness and organization, as well as motivate the team to meet these standards
- Handle inventory and ordering for all kitchen equipment and ingredients
- Help streamline operations in order to efficiently duplicate our model with new locations
- Serve as an integral part of our supportive, healthy environment
- Be comfortable with change, growth and the process of trial and error
- Tap into their entrepreneurial spirit
