We are seeking a proactive and creative Social Media Intern to join our team. This role will support our organic social media efforts with a goal of driving conversion and increasing brand engagement. The intern will work under the guidance of our Senior Manager of Social Media Marketing.
Essential Functions:
· Research and identify content trends and top-performing competitor content across various social media platforms.
· Schedule and tag posts.
· Support community management, reply to customer queries, engage with our followers, and help foster an interactive online community.
· Hands-on management of the Pinterest platform including daily pinning and scheduling, while looking for opportunities to test, learn, and grow on the platform.
· Potential to contribute to content creation efforts, with a focus on video content for platforms like TikTok and YouTube Shorts.
· Content Creator and Influencer program support, e.g. build dressing docs, interact with tagged posts, etc. May assist at occasional events.
· Participate in team meetings and contribute creative ideas for supporting various initiatives.
Competencies:
· Demonstrable understanding of current social and platform trends. Strong motivation to stay ahead in the fast-evolving social media landscape.
· Ability to work independently with a bias for action and initiative.
· Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with a team.
· Video editing skills are a plus.
· Familiarity with social media scheduling tools is desirable but not mandatory.
Work Environment:
· Works in an indoor office/home office environment, temperature controlled.
· Sit for long periods, standing and walking intermittently.
· Use office equipment such as computer, mouse, keyboard, printer.
· Occasionally lift or pull up to 20 pounds.
Education and Experience:
· High School diploma and minimum two years of college coursework.
· Some coursework in media, marketing, communications, or journalism preferred.
· Prior work experience.
· Ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language fluently, and communicate verbally and in writing at a professional level.
Expected Hours of Work:
· Hybrid (Walnut Creek, CA or Los Angeles, CA)
· Starting June 1, 2024. Minimum duration through the start of the school term, with potential to extend into the fall term. Minimum 20 hours per week, up to 40 hours.
