What are the responsibilities and job description for the Construction Accounting Clerk/Office Assistant position at Victoria Construction?
We are seeking an experienced, organized, and meticulous Accounts Payable Clerk/Office Assistant to assist in processing incoming vendor and subcontractor invoices and provide clerical and administrative support to our rapidly growing construction office on a part-time basis, with the possibility of becoming full-time.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Perform day to day financial transactions, including verifying, classifying, and recording accounts payable data
- Reconcile the accounts payable ledger to ensure that all bills and payments are accounted for and properly posted.
- Verify and investigate discrepancies, if any, by reconciling vendor accounts and monthly vendor statements
- Generate reports detailing accounts payables status
- Understand expense accounts and cost centers
- Understand compliance issues around accounts payable processes (W-9, sales tax, etc.)
- Provide support to the office manager, project manager, company president, and other construction management staff
- Perform general administrative duties within the office setting such as, but not limited to, setting up filing systems, data entry, supply requisitions, coordinate meeting logistics for the management team
Requirements and skills:
- Minimum 3 years’ Quickbooks experience within a construction office setting
- Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounting payable principles, especially pertaining to the construction field
- Proven ability to calculate, post and manage accounting figures and financial records
- Solid data entry skills, along with a knack for numbers
- Proficiency in MS Office programs and Intuit/QB, especially QB Online, is required
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
- Familiarity with the construction industry is a must
- Social Media experience is a plus!
This is strictly a part-time position and you will be scheduled for 15-20 hours per week. The days/times are somewhat negotiable.
Salary : $14 - $16
