We are an award-winning, family-owned and operated business looking for an experienced Pastry Chef to prepare a variety of desserts and cakes for our bakery. Your skill in baking high-quality products should be matched by your creativity to develop innovative recipes. The ideal candidate should be well-versed in culinary arts and have experience in the field.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare a wide variety of baked goods following traditional and modern recipes
  • Create innovative desserts to renew our menus and engage the interest of customers
  • Create custom cake designs based on customers' requests
  • Decorate pastries and cakes
  • Monitor stocks for baking ingredients and make appropriate orders within budget
  • Manage bakers for daily production schedule
  • Identify staffing needs and help recruit and train personnel
  • Maintain a lean and orderly cooking station and adhere to health and safety standards

Skills

  • Proven experience as Pastry Chef, baker, or relevant role
  • Great attention to detail and creativity
  • Organizing and leadership skills
  • Willingness to replenish professional knowledge
  • In-depth knowledge of sanitation principles, food preparation, and baking techniques
  • Certificate in culinary arts, pastry-making, baking, or relevant field

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $25.00 - $27.48 per hour

  • Bakery

COVID-19 considerations:
Vaccination is preferred for staff members. Masks are optional for vaccinated staff members. Masking is required for unvaccinated staff.

Ability to commute/relocate:

  • Santa Rosa, CA 95407: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required)

Experience:

  • Bakers & Confectioners: 3 years (Preferred)

Language:

  • Bilingual a plus (Required)
