POSITION DESCRIPTION:
The Billing Manager handles the billing operations including Medicare, Long-Term Care, and Co-Insurance for the residents of The Village at Germantown. The Billing Manager is responsible for creating and sending billing statements, tracking payment processes, keeping meticulous records, and resolving any discrepancies. Must also have the ability to handle resident/patient questions and follow-up on any issues relating to the billing process.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Plans and supervises billing and collection operations.
2. Coordinates with other departments to ensure accuracy of billing information.
3. Corresponds with residents/patients, answering questions, and resolving issues.
4. Corresponds with Medicare and insurance companies.
5. Follows up on outstanding payments.
6. Prepares and sends monthly billing statements.
7. Maintains and updates records.
8. Creates and manages resident/patient accounts.
9. Reconciles account discrepancies.
10. Prepares daily deposit activities and posts cash.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE, CERTIFICATIONS, AND LICENSING:
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and knowledge of accounting/billing software.
- Knowledgeable in medical insurance practices.
- Demonstrates and possesses a genuine liking and respect of the elderly.
- Degree in Business Administration, Accounting, or a related field preferred.
- Five Plus years of prior experience in healthcare billing, including Medicare.
- Experience in accurately applying Medicare, State, and private claim submissions.
- Efficient multi-tasking and time management skills necessary.
- Strong organizational skills and an eye for detail.
- Excellent communication and numerical skills mandatory.
- Strong customer service skills mandatory.
- Physical stamina, mental abilities, and emotional maturity and stability to handle high job stress; coordinate and conduct activities; and supervise others.
- Must be able to lift items up to 20 pounds; maneuver tight areas; reach, stretch, bend, and stoop.
