Billing Manager manages all activities and staff in the billing function. Oversees the development and implementation of policies and procedures that ensure timely and accurate billing of customers. Being a Billing Manager ensures current billing practices comply with governmental rules and regulations. Manages the investigation and resolution of billing discrepancies and errors. Additionally, Billing Manager may be responsible for collections. Typically requires a bachelor's degree in a related area. Typically reports to senior management. The Billing Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Billing Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.
