What are the responsibilities and job description for the Chef position at Vinnie's Neighborhood Italian - South?

As Executive Chef, you will be working closely with the GM to drive day-to-day operations. You will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the kitchen, as well as managing and training kitchen staff, running stations, expediting, scheduling staff, managing inventory, food & labor cost, etc. Experience in a scratch kitchen is a must. Strong knowledge of Italian cuisine is preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all facets of kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and plating
  • Manage and train kitchen staff, ensuring they are performing to the highest standards
  • Handle administrative duties, including scheduling, food cost management, inventory management, recipe costing, etc.
  • Develop and create weekly specials, while ensuring consistency with existing menu offerings
  • Order and manage inventory of all kitchen supplies, including food, equipment, and utensils
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
  • Work with the front-of-house to ensure smooth and efficient service

Qualifications:

  • Exceptional cooking skills
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience cooking in a scratch kitchen
  • Minimum of 3 years of kitchen management experience
  • Proven leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
  • Strong working knowledge of food costing, inventory management, etc.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Strong knowledge of culinary techniques and ingredients
  • Ability to work well in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and Aloha POS
  • Current ServSafe or similar certification

Compensation:

  • $62,000
  • Performance-based raises
  • Quarterly bonus program
