What are the responsibilities and job description for the Grants Coordinator position at VIP, Inc.?
JOB SUMMARY:
The Grant Coordinator is responsible for the administration of VPI’s grants including but not limited to research of fundings sources, preparation of proposals and reports, collecting data, ensuring timely submission of reports, and tracking progress of the entire grant process. They participate in the overall development planning and fundraising/marketing objectives for VPI. The Grant Coordinator will be a results-oriented individual who can work well independently and effectively manage simultaneous projects. The Grant Coordinator communicates, coordinates, and cooperates closely with VPI leadership, VPI Community Programs team members, and community and funding partners.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Acquire and maintain sound knowledge and understanding of VPI’s mission, programs, target populations, and strategic vision.
2. Research and identify new sources of government, corporate, and foundation support.
3. Manage full grant cycle which includes but is not limited to writing and submitting letters of inquiry and grant applications, preparing and submitting grant proposals, preparing and submitting grant reports, leading grant management, and tracking reporting requirements and deadlines.
4. Work collaboratively with program staff to manage larger proposals and organize the cohesive workflow among project team members, manage project timelines, and track grant deliverables to ensure grant is implemented with fidelity.
5. Maintain Salesforce database with information on all grants, funding sources, areas of interest, requirements for funding, status of funding requests, funding received, and contact information.
6. Maintain grants calendar and adhere to deadlines.
7. Facilitate relationships with funding agencies.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Non-profit Management, Communications, Marketing, Public Health, Public Administration, English, or related studies preferred.
2. At least two years’ experience in development, fundraising, grant writing, marketing, communications, or non-profit work.
3. High proficiency in standard office software, including Microsoft 365, Salesforce (or other CRMs).
4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, particularly the ability to read, analyze, write, and edit.
5. Proven ability to seek and synthesize information and communicate in a compelling and succinct form.
6. Attention to detail, strong organizational and time management skills, and proven ability to work well under pressure and meet strict deadlines.
7. Ability to work independently to successfully execute multiple, simultaneous projects on time with quality results.
8. Strong interpersonal skills with an ability to work effectively with a wide range of people, teams, and diverse partners.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Work performed is generally within the sedentary range as defined by the United States Department of Labor.
