POSITION SUMMARY
The incumbent in this position is responsible for performing all sales transactions in an assigned outlet.
GENERAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

- Responsible for the pick‑up, count down, and return of the cash bank from the miscellaneous count.
- Responsible for opening register, preparing and completing all paperwork for assigned outlet in an organized manner.
- In front of house areas: greets guests and inquires of customer satisfaction before completing sales transactions.
- Maintain accurate cash balance and handles money in a secure manner according to established standards.
- Handle forms and equipment necessary to complete settlement of credit cards, coupons, and room charges.
- Answer telephones and handles guest inquiries in person or by telephone.
- Responsible for learning and being familiar with all of the Virgin Hotel Las Vegas outlets, cashier functions, and for being able to answer general questions regarding the property.
- Check all supplies, ensuring adequate stock levels.
- Responsible for the security and accuracy of assigned banks and is accountable for any and all overages and shortages.
- Must be physically present at work, in assigned work station, in order to perform all functions required of the position.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Must have ability to:
- Use a cash register.
- Read, see, and write so as to read ticket totals, total up credit vouchers, log checks, etc.
- Bend so as to restock needed materials, retrieve dropped items, etc.
- Exposure to crowds and noise, varying levels depending on customer volume.
- Handle money and balance bank at end of shift.
- Communicate effectively with customers, co‑workers, and superiors.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Must be 21 years of age. Basic mathematical skills.
These skills and abilities are typically acquired through two months of on-the-job training or through related experience.
REGULATORY AND COMPLIANCE RESPONSIBILITIES
In addition to the other duties described herein, each and every employee has the following responsibilities related to compliance with laws and regulations:
- Attend required training sessions offered by Virgin Hotels Las Vegas.
- Perform the duties described in compliance with local laws and regulations.
- Take the necessary steps to ensure minors are not allowed to gamble or loiter in gambling areas, drink alcoholic beverages, or purchase tobacco.
- Have knowledge of the ordinances, regulations, laws, policies, and procedures relating to the employee's department.
- Consult Internal Control Procedures and Policy Manuals for guidance.
- Report illegal activity to Security or the appropriate levels of Management
