Position Summary:
This position reports to Mohegan Sun Casinos Las Vegas and is responsible for ensuring the protection of casino assets, and providing leadership to the Surveillance department on an assigned shift for MGNVs' casino operation located inside Virgin Hotels Las Vegas.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities: include but not limited to:
- Assist is the scheduling, training, developing, monitoring and managing shift personnel in such a manner to maintain a positive culture.
- Motivate shift staff in order to ensure that employees receive adequate guidance and resources to accomplish established departmental and guest service objectives
- Assist in establishing, implementing and maintaining department objectives, standards, guidelines and budget to achieve proper supervision of department
- Prepare, review and oversee surveillance shift reports generated; prepare summary reports of daily activities and incidents; provide an overview of important issues, progress and status reports representing all department operations to the Surveillance Director
- Assist in the development and implementation of department policies and procedures, train, schedule, supervise and evaluate team member performance
- Assist the Surveillance Director with department goals/objectives, evaluation of performance, planning of audits/close watches or special investigations
- Maintain daily activity log and reports to ensure adequate and accurate information on surveillance activities are documented for future access
- Maintain confidentiality of information and reports
- Assist Surveillance Director in conducting and documenting progressive discipline when needed.
- Assist Surveillance Director with planning installations for surveillance camera coverage and surveillance equipment.
- Safeguard company assets via observation and due diligence.
Secondary Duties and Responsibilities:
- Promote teamwork with peers and among staff to help ensure the department operates as a team
- Address and resolve guest concerns or inquiries
Minimum Education and Qualifications:
- High School Diploma
- Three years' supervisory experience in casino surveillance systems operations
- Knowledge of local jurisdiction gaming laws (federal, state, compact, etc.), Gaming Minimum Internal Controls and attendant regulations as well as MGNV internal controls, policies and procedures
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational and multi-tasking skills
- Intermediate knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook
- Ability to handle stressful situations while maintaining a high level of professionalism
Competencies: Incumbent will master the following competencies while in this position:
- Perform the duties described in compliance with local laws and regulations
- Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form
- Ability to apply commonsense to solve problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
Training Requirements:
- Attend required training sessions offered by MGNV
Physical Demands and Work Environment:
- Ability to sit for extended periods of time in a regulatory and fast-paced environment
- Ability to observe, in detail video in a camera monitor and/or on a computer screen for long periods
