The Manager of Stakeholder Engagement is a pivotal position that assists utility member operators in devising and implementing an effective public education and awareness program and oversees marketing efforts to promote Virginia 811’s services to ensure all parties affected by the Virginia Underground Utility Damage Prevention Act are aware of their responsibilities. This position coordinates team member recruitment; oversees marketing and public awareness activities; directs utility member services; works closely with all stakeholders, including the SCC, to ensure damage prevention efforts throughout Virginia are supported; and ensures effective use of all resources to make certain that training, education, and communication programs are completed.
Compensation:$69,000 yearly
Responsibilities:- Identifies/incorporates best practices and continuous improvement into the strategic plan, quality initiatives, and corporate objectives
- Works with Head of Service and Communications to develop an annual Public Awareness plan. Assists with analyzing damage data, soliciting plans from Member utilities, and other tasks related to the compilation of the plan
- Trade Shows and Informational Events
- Provide leadership for the Communications and Brand Supervisor and the Education and Marketing Supervisor
- Corporate Communications, overseeing website, conduct customer satisfaction survey, assists with annual Board of Director election
- Ensure that needs of Virginia 811 Member utility operators are met to ensure their compliance with the Damage Prevention Act
- Collaborates with the QA/QC team and Head of Service and Communications to increase Virginia 811’s reach through Internet Originated Tickets
- Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, or humanities-related field with 7 years experiences managing a department or equivalent. Experience in teaching and professional development preferred
- Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills with the ability to communicate and present to audiences of different ages and different educational levels
- Analytical skills to draw sound operational and financial conclusions from diverse data
- Knowledge of the Virginia Underground Utility Damage Prevention Act
- Skill in complex problem-solving
- Outstanding interpersonal skills
- Ability to travel
Virginia 811 serves as the notification center allowing anyone excavating in the state of Virginia to have any underground utilities in the area of excavation located. This helps to mitigate the risk of those excavating hitting a buried utility that could, in turn, result in loss of life, property, and/or services.
