Job Description:
Virginia Commonwealth University is seeking a Coordinator of Academic Services to join our team in University College. The Coordinator of Academic Services provides administrative support for the Department of Focused Inquiry (FI) and the Common Book Program within University College. The Coordinator is responsible for scheduling and supporting course maintenance for the Department of Focused Inquiry, in consultation with the Focused Inquiry Department Chair. These responsibilities include scheduling all FI classes and completing course maintenance forms for the FI department, managing classroom space requests, maintaining FI course databases, creating FI departmental registration documents, and coordinating course overrides. In addition, the Coordinator provides logistical support to the Common Book program and other University College committees and programs, providing direct support for both the Common Book program. The Coordinator provides high-level support for special projects in University College, as needed, and also provides direct administrative support to the Dean.
Minimum Education and Experience:
-Excellent attention to detail
-Strong oral and written communication skills
-Strong organizational & record-keeping skills
-Strong collaboration skills
-Knowledge of Banner, Excel, and Google Workspace
-Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent training and administrative work experience.
