Job Duties
Virginia Department of Education (VDOE) is looking for a highly qualified IT professional to provide help desk support to the agency’s security and technology programs in accordance with Commonwealth of Virginia Security and Technology policies and standards.
The IT Help Desk Engineer will also provide support on FOIA requests submitted by the public.

Minimum Qualifications
- Knowledge of State of Virginia access management policy.
- Demonstrated technical writing and system documentation skills.
- Ability to read and understand system vulnerability reports
- Demonstrate understanding of patch management.
- Knowledge of networks and network traffic and/or architecture.
- Ability to troubleshoot issues as they arise.
- Knowledge of Windows 11.
- Knowledge of Active Directory.
- Experience working in information technology, information security, or a related field.
- Previous experience in customer service.
- Ability to communicate effectively in both written and oral communications.
- Knowledge of FOIA and experience gathering documentation for FOIA requests.
- Knowledge of SharePoint Online Architecture, configurations and security model
- Demonstrated knowledge in information systems, computer science, or related field or demonstrated progressively responsible experience in information security and technology.
- Considerable knowledge of Commonwealth of Virginia IT Security policies and standards preferred.
- Information Security or Technology Industry certifications are highly desirable.
