What are the responsibilities and job description for the Purchasing Assistant position at Vision Plastics, Inc.?
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Issues and maintains purchase orders for Production and MRO (maintenance, repair and operations).
- Establishes reliable lines of contact with management team to ensure that all purchase orders are accurate.
- Expedites materials and goods and services, as required.
- Works with existing suppliers to maintain updated pricing, lead time, and contact information within Vendor Maintenance module of the IQMS system.
- Obtains pricing for Quoting for Sales and Engineering Department.
- Maintains procurement and accounts payable reports and related documentation within IQMS.
- Works with the inventory management team to ensure that all deliveries satisfy the assigned purchase orders and report any back-ordered or missing products.
- Assists with onsite Physical Inventory activities (i.e., data entry, tag reconciliation) and Cycle Counting.
- Assists the Materials Manager with maintaining proper inventory levels of materials used on a regular basis.
- Searches for continuous cost savings.
- Responsible for maintaining customer database for all regulatory reporting, or other required reporting and documentation.
- Creates and edits vendor database and files.
- Maintains ‘Item Master’ for all purchased production material and components.
- Performs data entry as required.
- All other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Bachelor’s or Associates degree, preferred; with a high school diploma or GED, required.
- Excellent Communication and Organizational Skills
- Strong Negotiating Skills, preferably 2-3 experience in vendor negotiations, purchasing, or related filed.
- Comprehensive understanding of Microsoft Word/Excel applications; and, IQMS or industry standard purchase order software platforms a plus.
- Impeccable attention to detail.
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements (i.e., REACH, RoHS, Conflict Minerals)
- Able to thrive in a team orientated, high-stress, and fast-paced environment.
- Manufacturing or Plastic Processing Experience desired.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour
