Privately owned Hardware Store has an immediate opening for a RETAIL STORE MANAGER!
General Summary:
The Store Manager is responsible for the complete day-to day operation of the location. This includes maximizing store, retail and professional (contractor) sales and profitability. Minimizing expenses while ensuring that the location is optimally stocked and merchandised is a top priority, as is providing exceptional customer service. The Store Manager will be a leader, problem solver, calculated risk taker and must manage his/her time to achieve budget results. Ensures profitability by working collaboratively with other management and Store Owner to establish and enforce best practices.
Overview of Responsibilities:
• Establish strong relationships with key customers; Lead by example in providing exceptional customer service
• Carry out hiring and on-boarding strategies to maximize talent acquisition and retention
• Manage employee accountability, performance reviews, and disciplinary actions
• Manage staffing levels to ensure adequate coverage to meet current demands
• Provide an enjoyable working environment that is conducive to employee success and overall morale. ·
• Create and enforce plans to keep store, warehouse, and yard merchandised, stocked, and relevant
• Evaluate and align processes to improve the financial performance and all activities of the store, including quoting, deliveries, and receiving, etc...
• Address customer concerns and warranty/product issues with a. sense of urgency and attention to detail
• Ensure location inventory is accurate and cycle counts ·are completed timely; establish systems for maintaining accurate product inventory and minimizing loss (ie: expired products, theft, etc... )
• Serve as an active influence in the community
Qualifications:
- 3 years experience in Retail Store Management
- Work history in Hardware, Lumber, Home Improvement, or Lawn & Garden retail environment
- Detail oriented and be able to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Financial acumen to handle store operations
