Job Posting for Human Resources Generalist at VISITING NURSE SERVICE AND HOSPICE OF SUFFOLK
1. GENERAL
Represent HR Department in support of employees on a day-to-day basis.
Answer phones and assist employees with inquiries.
Prepare letters, mailings, and general correspondence.
Prepare orientation packets and HR educational materials.
Initiate and maintain HRIS confidential employee files to include but not be limited to personnel, medical, I-9, background checks, EEOC and leave.
Manage compliance tracking for all credentials, including but not limited to professional licenses and renewals, continuing education, health records.
Assist with the annual open enrollment process for all benefit plans.
Other duties as assigned.
2. RECRUITMENT
Receive requests to post positions internally and externally as directed by Administrative/Management staff.
Collaborate with recruiting agencies to facilitate identification of qualified job candidates.
Assist in screening all resumes.
Assist in conducting preliminary phone, virtual, or in-person interviews to pre-screen candidates with consideration of job description, special needs of managers, availability to work, commitment to work schedule, and conflicting responsibilities.
Complete verifications of employment, references, and pre-employment requests of information.
Forward viable resumes to appropriate hiring manager.
Schedule interviews.
Perform pre-employment reference and background checks including criminal, exclusion lists, etc.
Validate current registrations/certifications for clinicians and HHAs on appropriate sites.
Receive and file required credentials and documents from new hires.
Forward professional and health credentials to Compliance Officer for review and approval.
Manage fingerprinting process for all HHAs and CHRC/HHA Registry checks.
3. ORIENTATION
Notify appropriate departments to participate in Orientation.
Assist new hires with completion of required onboarding forms on UKG.
Create ID badges for all employees and Independent Contractors.
Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or related field; Masters’ Degree preferred.
Minimum 2 years’ experience in human resources, preferably within a healthcare setting.
Computer adeptness and proficiency in Outlook and Microsoft Office. Kronos experience a plus.
Effective and written communication skills with strong attention to detail.
Excellent interpersonal and organization skills.
Ability to comply with HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accountability) and office personnel confidentiality.
Skills in database management and record keeping.
Regulatory compliance experience with accreditation surveys. (i.e. CHAP, DOH)
The Human Resources Generalist will provide support inclusive of day-to-day operations of the Human Resources department with direction from the Human Resources Manager.
