TASKS OF THE POSITION
Clinical Supervision and Support
• Provides clinical supervision to therapists and other clinical supporting roles to ensure treatment and safety plans are implemented throughout the program.
• Conducts clinical supervision that meets standards of practice and provides direct, constructive feedback to implement alternative therapeutic measures or maintain current treatment planning to meet length of stay targets.
• Demonstrates clear understanding of specific clinical assessments and can provide coaching and training as needed for program staff. Also, will retrieve and analyze specific program data for continuous quality improvement toward best-in-class programming.
• Utilizes best/promising practice research, along with internal quality measure data to institute continuous quality improvement initiatives related to client/family success in treatment, unit operations and staff retention.
• Provides supervision, direction and leadership to residential staff including performance feedback and evaluation, coaching, mentoring and problem resolution.
Administration
• Embraces and successfully implements agency's trauma-informed models and other supporting program models as designed.
• Ensures daily operations and staffing are aligned and supports program model, agency’s standards of care and provides staff and youth a safe, welcoming atmosphere to achieve goals.
• Actively participates in the recruitment, selection, onboarding and retention of qualified residential staff ensuring competency, training standards and requirements are met.
• Manages Profit & Loss for unit including management of labor costs, revenue and other expense management by developing and maintaining a working knowledge of all fiscal issues that relate to the program, and implement all procedures as required.
• Engages and collaborates with youth and their family/support persons for recommendations, and feedback to ensure the program is relevant and meets expectations.
• Ensures timely, and accurate information such as, incident reports, clinical reports, etc) is shared with other interagency departments to meet contractual and licensing requirements
• Partners with Director of Integrated Behavioral Health, and Intake and Client Relations to coordinate admissions/discharges and/or internal program transfers. In addition, consults with Director, Integrated Behavioral Health to proactively address significant youth clinical issues that may impact program completion, permanency plans and length of stay.
• Serves as a member of the Senior Leadership Team and responsible for leading and implementing key performance residential programming initiatives.
Stays informed of current practice developments within the profession and uses educational and training opportunities to ensure continual professional competence.
• Assists the team in crisis situations and or staffing needs.
• On call responsibilities for emergency situations.
Quality
• Sets and achieves annual residential treatment program targets.
• Prepares and present information supporting residential divisional scorecard, agency reports, and other strategic initiatives.
• Participates in agency’s quality committees and other sub-committees, as required to move forward key strategic initiatives.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
• Understands the Diagnostic Statistical Manual (DSM) V psychiatric diagnoses.
• Strong abilities lead others, manage and direct programs and hold team accountable to uphold a positive culture.
• Demonstrates strong abilities to manage multiple programs and teams to achieve programmatic goals.
• Highly skilled in evidence-based treatment modalities, such as motivational interviewing, trauma-focused cognitive behavioral therapy.
• Computer literate with demonstrated knowledge of automated information management systems related to developing, monitoring and managing social service programs.
• Demonstrated ability to interact positively in a culturally diverse environment.
• Must support a trauma informed, integrated health culture.
• Prior program development and new program implementation experience.
• Strong presentation skills.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY
Oversees the residential treatment program and direct duties of the program supervisor, therapists and youth &
family specialists.
