About the Position
The Human Resources Manager (HRM) is responsible for directing and coordinating all human resources activities including policy management, recruiting, employment management, compensation, labor relations, benefit administration, training and onboarding, compliance, performance management and people development. This position supervises a small team of 3 human resources professionals and reports directly to the Plant Manager and indirectly to the VP of Human Resources. The HRM works onsite from our location in Fontana, CA.
Compensation and Benefits
The salary for this position is $85,000 - $115,000, depending on experience. This position is eligible for the following benefits:

Essential Position Responsibilities
- Supervise, train and develop a 3 person Human Resources Team to further improve their analytical, strategic and proactive human resources skills.
- Review all policies, procedures and reporting relating to human resources and consult with legal counsel to ensure all compliance with federal and state law.
- Coordinate with Plant Manager and Executive Management to manage the relationship with the Collective Bargaining Unit and CBA.
- Study legislation, arbitration decisions, and collective bargaining contracts to assess industry trends.
- Plan, conduct and oversee the recruiting and onboarding process.
- Coordinate management training in interviewing, hiring, terminations, promotions, performance review, safety, sexual harassment, etc.
- Advise management in appropriate resolution of employee relations issues.
- Administer performance review program to ensure effectiveness, compliance and equity within organization.
- Collaborate with the VP of HR and HR team in the implementation of the benefit administration process.
- Leads the employee separation process.
- Collaborate with the VP of HR and HR team when managing the payroll process, e.g. ADP.
- Prepare reports and recommend procedures to reduce absenteeism and turnover.
- Develop, organize, conduct and evaluate training programs and activities.
- Provide career counseling and training to prepare employees for the next step of their career path.
- Additional responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university and/or 6-9 years of Human Resources experience required. May be willing to train someone with less experience.
- At least 3 years of supervisory experience required.
- Willing to adjust work schedule as needed to deliver training and support to all shifts.
- Strong and effective written and verbal interpersonal communication skills.
- High level of integrity and the ability to keep information confidential.
- Strong working knowledge of Federal and State employment law.
- Ability to facilitate trainings and presentations for employees of all levels within the organization.
- Demonstrated proficiency in policy development, documentation and implementation.
- Ability to manage difficult situations with thought and confidence.
- High level of attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities with competing deadlines.
- Ability to explain detailed legal information to staff in a way that is understandable.
- Bilingual in English and Spanish a plus.
- Experience with contract negotiations, grievance cases, arbitrations, and conciliations preferred.
