The Role
The Account Manager is responsible for the maintenance and growth of existing accounts with targeted OEMs. This includes supporting daily management of program commercial issues including production, prototype and service, growing existing business at a profitable level, developing business partner relationships and identify growth areas/ opportunities with existing accounts.
- Develop and executes business strategy and achieve sales goals.
- Build relationships across the customer’s technical and commercial groups.
- Maintain a deep and dynamic understanding of the customer’s business and technical objectives, strategies, capabilities, and ensure ongoing alignment with Visteon’s business objectives.
- Track and provides monthly, quarterly and annual forecasts and shipment reports by customer and product.
- Manage key logistical elements with the customers, including pricing, quoting, forecasting, and contractual negotiations to achieve financial targets.
- Manage active program / design engagements to ensure that customer deliverables are being met, actively work with Product Delivery and/or Engineering and Product Marketing teams to make sure gaps are addressed.
- Work with cross-functional team to assess commercial impact of program design, cost, and pricing changes to generate commercial response to Customer.
- Manage pricing to Customer of end-items, tooling, supplier NRE, components, outsourced services, etc. through price tracking/bump charts.
- Receive customer purchase orders, validate expected value, and sign/submit the purchase order internally to confirm acceptance. Manage contracts with production facilities through ERP system.
- Manage timely submission of invoices for any non-production piece price PO's (i.e. lump sum ED&T, tooling, etc.).
- Manage and confirm commercial impact of customer volume/capacity demand changes on manufacturing and other product costs.
- Ensure that Account Receivables (AR) are timely tracked and resolved with customer. Coordinate resolution of and report any discrepancies to the appropriate collection analyst.
- Build and maintain revenue reports to highlight risk or opportunity to sales based on analysis of vehicle production and part installation rates. Manage account sales forecast through use of corporate Integrated Forecast System.
- Plan and monitor amortized costs (specifically ED&T) to ensure full recovery to support customer claim submission or price reduction.
- Collaboratively work with global key Account Managers and Sales leadership as well as other functional activities including manufacturing locations.
Required skills and experiences:
- 5 years of experience in Sales, Business Development, Product Management or related experience.
- OEM electronics sales experience, prefer Ford experience.
- Understanding of Financial measurable and metrics.
- IT literacy including Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
- Flexibility to travel to support customer demands / meetings.
- Battery Management Electronics experience a plus.
