Join Vita Coco as an Indirect Procurement Manager and play a pivotal role in defining our future procurement strategy. In this unique position, you’ll be our sole expert in indirect procurement, collaborating closely with every department at HQ to craft and execute a forward-thinking strategy with a special emphasis on marketing categories. Reporting directly to our VP of Operations, you’ll engage with all levels of leadership to foster strong vendor relationships and drive significant value to our P&L. This role is hybrid, based out of our NYC HQ, reporting to the VP of Operations.
Main Responsibilities:
Strategy
• Formulate and implement the indirect procurement strategy for Vita Coco, driving the annual procurement planning process.
• Stay ahead of category trends by conducting thorough market analysis, integrating insights from both internal and external sources to refine the procurement strategy and set priorities.
• Monitor and review the procurement strategy regularly, ensuring it adapts to evolving business needs and remains effective.
Benchmarking and Opportunity Seeking
• Perform ongoing benchmarking across all spend categories to uncover opportunities for cost savings and risk mitigation. Collaborate with department teams to act on these insights.
• Lead negotiations with vendors to secure favorable pricing and contract terms, working closely with the legal team to ensure compliance and optimal outcomes.
Process, Systems and Training
• Develop and standardize procurement processes, guidelines and policies and ensure their adoption across all HQ departments.
• Implement advanced vendor management processes that drive value and innovation. Create and maintain scorecards, track KPIs, lead vendor reviews on a quarterly and monthly basis, and support improvement initiatives as needed.
• Oversee and manage end-to-end RFx processes and work with functional teams to select vendors that are the right fit for Vita Coco and align to our business goals.
• Identify and implement necessary systems and tools to enhance the procurement strategy.
• Assess procurement training needs across departments and develop programs to build and enhance team skills.

Qualifications and Skills:
• Bachelor's degree or higher, ideally in Finance, Business or related field.
• 8 years of progressive procurement experience in roles across multiple categories and ideally multiple organizations. Experience with Marketing procurement (agency costs, talent fees and partnership fees) much preferred.
• Ability to build relationships across all levels of seniority within multiple departments both internally and externally.
• Proven in depth knowledge of sourcing and procurement processes and best practices.
• A proactive self-starter who thrives in a dynamic and ambiguous work environment.
• Experience with CPG industry preferred.
• Experience with ERP system such as SAP preferred.
At The Vita Coco Company, compensation decisions are dependent upon a variety of factors, which may include, but are not limited to: skill set, experience, education, training, licensure and certifications, knowledge and abilities of the applicant, alignment with market data, and other business and organizational needs. A reasonable estimate of the current pay range for this position is $110,000-$120,000. This range may vary for positions that will be performed outside of California, Colorado, Nevada, New York City, Westchester County, NY, Rhode Island, or Washington.
