The Opportunity: The College of Business, Leadership and Ethics is home of the Dahl School of Business, the Center for Professional Learning, and the D.B. Reinhart Institute for Ethics in Leadership. The Dahl School of Business seeks qualified applicants for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Accounting starting in Fall 2024. We seek applicants with expertise in the field of Accounting to teach in the school's undergraduate accounting, the core for business programs and the MBA. Undergraduate accounting courses include, but not limited to, financial accounting, intermediate accounting, cost accounting, accounting information systems, federal taxation, advanced accounting and auditing. Interest in teaching managerial statistics, finance or economics is desirable. The teaching load is 4:4 with possible opportunities to teach over the summer. The position also requires advising accounting majors and minors, mentoring students seeking internship and job placement, fostering relationships with aligned professional organizations, assisting with curriculum management, participating in campus committees, assisting in student recruitment for the program, and engaging in the academic life of the College. Candidates must be innovative in their active learning pedagogical approach with an understanding of the skills and technological literacy required to lead in a global environment. This position places a strong emphasis on teaching, advising, scholarship, and service, embodying the core values of the university.
Qualifications: The successful candidate shall have: (1) A master's degree in accounting or a master's degree in business administration with significant accounting experience and professional certification, a doctoral degree is preferred (2) professional accounting experience is highly desirable, (3) professional certification(s) (e.g. CPA, CMA, CIA, CFE, etc.), (4) college teaching experience is preferred, (5) an active agenda of scholarship and professional activity in academia and/or industry preferred. Experience with basic classroom technology is preferred. A doctoral degree is required for immediate tenure track appointment. Must be authorized to work in the United States.
