Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Ophthalmic Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for eye care and a desire to contribute to the well-being of our patients. As an Ophthalmic Technician, you will play a crucial role in assisting our ophthalmologists in diagnosing and treating eye conditions.
Responsibilities:
- Perform preliminary eye examinations, including taking patient histories and performing visual acuity tests.
- Assist ophthalmologists with diagnostic tests and procedures, such as tonometry, visual field testing, and OCT imaging.
- Educate patients on eye care procedures and post-operative care instructions.
- Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
- Sterilize and maintain ophthalmic instruments and equipment.
- Provide support during minor surgical procedures.
- Collaborate with other members of the healthcare team to ensure the highest standard of patient care.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; certification as an Ophthalmic Assistant preferred.
- Previous experience working in an ophthalmology practice or healthcare setting preferred.
- Knowledge of ophthalmic terminology, procedures, and equipment preferred.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills required.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
