Staff Accountant
The ideal candidate is a recent college graduate with a degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration with an emphasis on Accounting.
This position is primarily responsible for facilitating procurement, accounts payable, and all related procedures and compliance. This role requires you to be able to work both independently and collaboratively, while also prioritizing a diverse workload.
Qualifications
A candidate with a background in construction accounting practices is preferred.
4-year BS degree in Finance, Accounting, or Business Administration
Proficient in financial accounting, with knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting practices and procedures
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Advanced experience in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
Proven ability to work with minimal direction, as well as be resourceful and independent in solving problems
Acute attention to detail and a dedication to providing high-quality work products
Willingness to work hard with a positive attitude
Experience in handling sensitive/confidential information
Summary of Essential Job Functions
Process vendor invoices, including coding to appropriate projects and general ledger accounts and making payments on a timely basis
Resolve/reconcile invoice discrepancies and coordinate business operations team members as necessary
Create purchase orders and verify bills against items/services received
Request, verify, and document vendor W-9 and Certificate of Insurance
Maintain vendor records and perform annual 1099 reporting
Manage corporate credit cards, including coding to appropriate projects and general ledger accounts and processing payments on a timely basis
Review, post, and pay monthly employee expense reports
Scan, file, and maintain accounting records
Process monthly journal entries, as needed
Prepare auditor-requested reconciliations and provide supporting documents for year-end financial statement audit
Participate in special projects and initiatives and provide general support as needed
Other purchase and accounting duties as assigned
