Position Summary:


This position is responsible for evaluating and analyzing complex public health programs and policies to support management on public health policies, operations, products, and services and contribute to the improvement of public health programs.  This position will support Wabanaki Center for Research, Knowledge, and Innovation (CWRKI) and other WPHW programs.  This includes, but is not limited to, coordinating grant reports, helping program staff create performance measures, gathering data for performance measures and evaluation, submitting grant reports, and coordinating quality improvement efforts.  This position is full time, 40 hours per week.


Duties and Responsibilities:


      Program Technical Assistance and Support

      • Provide technical assistance and support to WPHW Leadership and Division Managers by overseeing work plans, reports, and deliverables for federal, state, and philanthropic grants.
      • Attend required grant trainings for related systems.
      • Work with Division Managers to develop work plans that align with grant requirements and community needs.
      • Support Division Managers in completing required reports.
      • Develop a calendar of grant report due dates.
      • Develop or obtain report templates from grant systems.
      • Assist with technical writing of reports to ensure all reports are submitted on time and meet quality standards.
      • Save and maintain grant files, both on paper and in share drives.
      • Submit reports to Grant Compliance Manager for submission and be available to assist with the uploading of grant documents into grant systems.
      • Serve as a contact for program grant officers, along with Division Managers. Attend grant calls and coordinate schedules.
      • Support grant-related workgroups, consortiums, or teams as needed.
      • Assist in the grant writing process to ensure continued support for programs.
      • Review and analyze grant opportunity announcements weekly for grants of interest.
      • Aid in the writing and submission of grant applications, as directed.
      • Research and analyze available data in subject area for grant applications.
      • Assist with the development of goals, objectives, performance measures, and work plans for grant narrative.
      • Review narratives to ensure compliance with grant requirements.


      Evaluation and Program Performance Management

      • Work with the evaluation team to gather all performance management requirements for federal, state, and philanthropic grants.
      • Analyze quantitative and qualitative program evaluation data and provide output in the format requested.
      • Coordinate and support program staff on gathering program data.
      • Data collection, labeling, storage, and transport in accordance with WPHW data governance standards
      • Create and maintain internal reporting and data systems that meet reporting requirements and provide information for grant writing and program development.
      • Conduct analysis activities with IRB/RRB as required.
      • Work with Project Directors and Evaluation team on the best methods for collecting program data for reporting needs.
      • Evaluate, monitor, and maintain internal programmatic data systems.
      • Report data to staff and required grantors as required.
      • Provide evaluation and reporting support to Wabanaki communities as requested.


      Quality Improvement

      • Create WPH Quality Improvement plan that aligns with PHAB standards.
      • Create and implement a continuous cycle of improvement to align with strategic plan.
      • Coordinate with strategic plan to create a 5-year timeline for meeting PHAB Standards.
      • Lead and coordinate Public Health Accreditation efforts.
      • Create an accreditation team that meets on a regular basis.
      • Implement quality improvement processes.
      • Report to Administration Team any risks or potential issues.
      • Prepare regular updates for staff and communities on QI activities.
      • Perform other duties as assigned.


        Education and Experience Required:


        • University degree or college diploma in public health, health, education, or a related field; A Master’s degree is preferred.
        • At least two (2) years of experience in public health, health, education, or a related field
        • Experience working in Tribal Communities.
        • Experience working with grant systems.

            

            Skills and Qualifications Required:


            • Knowledge, skills, and experience working with data systems, data collection, data analysis, and data cleaning with quantitative and qualitative coding of data.
            • Skills/experience with scientific-technical writing.
            • Excellent organizational, time management and communication skills.
            • The ability to work effectively in a team environment as well as independently.
            • A strong work ethic and enthusiasm.
            • A willingness to travel; a good driving record and access to reliable transportation are required. 
            • Proficiency with Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Power Point, Excel, and Outlook required.
            • Must pass criminal and other background checks as required by the Agency.
