This position is responsible for developing and managing the personnel and assets required to maximize machine sales, profit, and market share of an assigned region in a manner that reflects the company’s vision of working as “One Professional Team.” Depending on region assigned, the Regional Sales Manager may have a focus on agriculture, mining, or national accounts.
Pay Rate: $103,555.48 - $142,388.33 Annually
Pay rate is dependent upon education & experience.
Essential Functions:

- Develops area business plans and forecasts to be incorporated into the annual corporate budget
- Approves expenses for direct report
- Develops and manages a regional budget
- Assists sales people as required to get business
- Helps develop and implement sales meetings, sales training, demonstrations, etc.
- Assists the VP of Sales and Rental as required in special assignments and programs
- Develops strong business relationships with customers
- Develops positive business relationships with Caterpillar personnel
- Determines and implements proper sales coverage
- Recommends proper inventory for the models assigned by the VP of Sales and Rental
- Helps to develop the marketing plans and strategic plans of Earth Moving sales area
- Manages and coordinates promotion and marketing plans for those models assigned
- Manages and coordinates market plans and programs utilizing Caterpillar assistance as available
- Other duties as assigned by manager
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Direct reports include: Earthmoving Machine Sales Representatives, Demo Operator
- Interviews and makes hiring decisions for direct report positions
- Trains, develops, and directs the activities of the assigned sales personnel
- Conducts annual performance reviews and obtains agreement on future goals and actions
Required Education and Experience:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration or Engineering or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- 5 years administrative/clerical experience
- 5 years customer service experience
- 5 years sales experience
- 5 years supervisory/management experience
Physical Demands & Competencies:
- Standing, walking, talking, sitting, use of hands & hearing, and Squatting/Kneeling
- Ability to ascend/descend ladders, stairs, etc.
- Medium work that includes lifting and/or moving objects up to 32 pounds or more
- Data Entry, telephone, reading/writing, reasoning, organizational, communication & math skills
- Safety & Product Knowledge
- Team Building Skills
- CRM Skills/Management
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint
Travel Requirements:
- 1-25%
