Summary:
Provides high-quality, effective, spiritually integrated behavioral health services to individuals, couples, families, and/or groups. Counseling and consultation may be performed in person or through telehealth in various settings, including outpatient CareNet offices, primary care and specialty clinics, workplace settings, and other community locations.
Education/Experience:
Graduate degree in Counseling, Social Work, or Psychotherapy from an accredited institution.
Minimum of 2 years of clinical behavioral health experience.
Theological education and/or experience providing spiritually integrated psychotherapy are strongly valued.
Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration:
Professional behavioral health licensure (i.e. LCSW, LCMHC, LMFT, NCFBPPC, LCAS) in North Carolina.
Skills/Qualifications
- Excellent working knowledge of behavioral health and evidence-based treatments for behavioral health conditions.
- Proficiency in utilizing the latest DSM version to assess and diagnose mental health disorders.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to maintain personal, emotional, physical, and spiritual health while serving a diverse client population.
- Familiarity with Electronic Medical Records and/or proficiency in basic computer skills and willingness to learn.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (All Settings)
- Provides high-quality spiritually integrated and trauma-informed behavioral health services.
- Maintains accurate and timely clinical documentation.
- Provides comprehensive assessment and diagnosis of behavioral health needs.
- Evaluates crisis situations and respond with appropriate interventions.
- Maintains ethical codes of the profession and of licensing organizations.
- Contributes to departmental effectiveness and operations. Actively participates in department meetings, staff development, and case reviews. Represents and promotes the department in the community.
- Receives supervision and/or consultation to enhance professional effectiveness.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Outpatient Psychotherapy and Co-located Settings)
- Delivers high-quality spiritually integrated psychotherapy, consultation, and education.
- Collects client’s demographic information and ensures that all intake paperwork is completed prior to or during the first appointment.
- Formulates develops and implements a treatment plan in collaboration with the client.
- Collaborates with administrative staff to enter client’s insurance information into client’s chart or contract with a client for an alternative payment plan. Works with administrative staff to ensure client payments are received and documented in a timely manner.
- Builds and maintains clinical caseload to meet annual budgeted goals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Primary Care)
- Collaborates with the provider team to provide holistic care for patients and their families.
- Assists with mental health screenings of patients.
- Provides brief interventions for patients and families with behavioral health needs and works with the care teams to connect patients to higher levels of care when needed.
- Provides behavioral health consults to primary care providers.
- Promotes and educates patients, families, and staff on trauma-informed care and resiliency.
- Provides effective treatment planning in coordination with the primary care team and assists patients in successfully achieving established goals.
- Provides group visits/support groups for patients and/or their families.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities (Workplace Environment)
- Provides brief interventions for employees and families with behavioral health needs and works with the care team to connect individuals to higher levels of care when needed.
- Works with workplace employers and Best Health for Business Team to identify areas where organizations can promote trauma-informed practices, wellness, and resiliency.
- Provides education related to mental health and substance use, along with available information on available treatment options.
- Provides in-service training on mental health, wellness, and resiliency to employees.
