This position is responsible for the operation of a department. An individual in this position will be expected to perform additional job related responsibilities and duties as assigned and/or necessary. Provides and models customer service by acknowledging the customer; identifying customer needs; assisting with purchasing decisions; locating merchandise; resolving customer issues and concerns; promoting products and services; maintaining a safe shopping environment; and appropriately representing and supporting the company. Supports the achievement of financial goals by communicating and collaborating with other team leads and store management on business objectives; delivering daily operational guidance to teams; and monitoring inventory flow processes and service standards. Leads team associates effectively by operating as the manager on duty; prioritizing and delegating daily workloads; monitoring and communicating team staffing needs; ensuring area processes are executed effectively; setting clear expectations; communicating goals; maintaining open dialogue with team associates; providing consistent follow up to verify workload completion; ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures; and participating in the hiring, promotion, coaching, training, and evaluation of associates. Maintains area merchandise presentation and inventory accuracy by leading and guiding teams in receiving, stocking, and rotating merchandise; removing damaged or out-of-date goods; setting up, cleaning, and organizing product displays; zoning the sales area; signing and pricing merchandise appropriately; binning and picking merchandise; preparing, handling, packaging, labeling, and storing food to meet safety and compliance guidelines; operating and sanitizing food-related equipment; completing bin audits; working inventory exceptions; correcting shelf capacities; securing fragile and high-shrink merchandise; following proper procedures for handling and disposing of hazardous materials; and following opening and closing procedures in area of responsibility. Summary:

The Consumables Associate is responsible for supporting the Walmart retail operations by performing retail sales and service tasks at Falmouth, ME and in other stores in the portfolio. This position will be responsible for setting an appropriate example in their behavior, training others, and promoting a team-oriented environment.

Essential Functions:

  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule of nights, days, weekends, or holidays based on store schedule requirements
  • Must have the ability to learn new tasks and responsibilities as needed within the store management structure
  • Maintain a clean and organized work environment
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with customers to determine their needs and assist them with their products or services
  • Build relationships with customers and other store personnel
  • Other duties as assigned by management
  • Ability to learn new products and services within the portfolio

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED preferred; or equivalent experience of (3) three to (5) years with no major changes in employment preferred.
  • Ability to obtain Salesperson’s License required by state law.
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds.
