Apparel/Home Department Manager
This position is responsible for assisting in the operation of multiple departments. An individual in this position will be expected to perform additional job related responsibilities and duties throughout the facility as assigned and/or as necessary.
Essential Functions
A n individual must be able to successfully perform the essential functions of this position with or without a reasonable accommodation.
Maintains area of responsibility in accordance with company policies and procedures by properly handling claims and returns; zoning the area; a rranging and organizing merchandise/supplies; identifying shrink and damages; and ensuring a safe work environment.
Performs competition shopping in accordance with company and legal policies and procedures by utilizing appropriate equipment and tools; c ompleting and maintaining lists and reports; and communicating changes and issues to management.
Maintains merchandise presentation by stocking and rotating merchandise; removing damaged or out-of-date goods; setting up, cleaning, and o rganizing product displays; signing and pricing merchandise appropriately; and securing fragile and high-shrink merchandise.
Organizes and maintains the apparel department by following rack rules; creating an appealing presentation for the customer; following fashion m erchandising guidelines; and processing and displaying clothing.
Provides customer service by acknowledging the customer; identifying customer needs; assisting with purchasing decisions; locating merchandise; resolving customer issues and concerns; promoting products and services; maintaining a safe shopping environment; and appropriately representing a nd supporting the company's mission.
Receives and stocks merchandise/supplies from distribution centers and suppliers throughout the facility and organizes and maintains facility by following company procedures; utilizing equipment appropriately; merchandising; and completing and retaining required paperwork, logs, and other d ocumentation.
Provides hardware services to customers by labeling paint cans; mixing; tinting; matching paint; duplicating keys; and cutting chain using appropriate m achines and tools.
Maintains the fitting room in accordance with company policies and procedures by folding and hanging clothing; ensuring pricing labels/tickets are attached; returning merchandise to appropriate departments; processing defective merchandise; answering phone for entire facility; and monitoring t he area for shrink, security risks, and safety.
S upports the achievement of financial goals by managing Customer Inventory Flow Process and SWAS planning.
Provides supervision in the department areas by assigning duties, communicating goals, providing feedback and follow-up, monitoring performance, teaching and supporting company policies and procedures, ensuring compliance, and participating in the hiring, promotion, coaching, teaching, and e valuation of associates.
Develops, communicates, and implements processes and practices to meet business needs by collaborating with managers, co-workers, customers, and other business partners; analyzing and applying information from multiple sources; monitoring progress and results; and identifying and a ddressing improvement opportunities.
Demonstrates, promotes, and supports compliance with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity by explaining, guiding, and demonstrating how to apply these in executing business processes and practices; implementing related action plans; using the Open Door Policy; a nd assisting management with correcting ethical and compliance issues and problems.
Leads and participates in teams by using and sharing resources, information, and tools; determining customer needs and business priorities; coordinating and executing work assignments; providing advice, feedback, and support to ensure timelines and work quality are achieved; and m odeling and helping others with how to adapt to change or new challenges.

Plans for customer service and sales based on events outside the store (for example, weather, gas prices, local events). Stays current on competitors' prices, products, and displays to suggest to management ways to improve the store. Fitting Room - Follows proper procedures to prevent theft when checking and maintaining the Fitting Room area. Assists Customers with fitting room rules and guidelines. Reports Customer issues and concerns, shrink opportunities, and problems with fitting room services and conditions. Properly c leans and secures fitting rooms.
Customer/Member Centered: Satisfy the Customer/Member - Uses information and feedback to determine customer/member expectations. Works with others to exceed customer/member expectations.
