Job Description

People Lead

This position is responsible for assisting in the operation of a department. An individual in this position will be expected to perform additional job related responsibilities and duties throughout the facility as assigned and/or as necessary.

Essential Functions
A n individual must be able to successfully perform the essential functions of this position with or without a reasonable accommodation.

Leads and promotes the adoption of technology services and digital solutions by utilizing and sharing resources, information, and tools; and modeling and assisting associates with new ways of working implementation efforts.

Develops, communicates, and implements HR practices and action plans to meet business needs by collaborating with managers, co-workers, customers, and other business partners; analyzing and applying data from multiple resources to ensure accuracy; monitoring strategy progress and results; and identifying and addressing process improvement opportunities.

Supports and advocates for associates by modeling Walmart core values; striving to ensure excellence and respect are incorporated into daily routines, store meetings, and communications; encouraging associates to lead by example and act with integrity; and correcting and/or reporting issues or concerns to management.

Assists leadership with associate recruitment, hiring, staffing, development, succession planning, scheduling, attendance, and performance needs by i dentifying and analyzing HR (Human Resources) related issues; and providing guidance on the execution of company HR programs and initiatives.

Provides and supports the implementation of business solutions by building relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders; identifying business needs; determining and carrying out necessary processes and practices; monitoring progress and results; recognizing and capitalizing on improvement opportunities; and adapting to competing demands, organizational changes, and new responsibilities.

Models compliance with company policies and procedures and supports company standards of ethics and integrity by incorporating these into the development and implementation of business plans; using the Open Door Policy; and demonstrating and assisting others with how to apply these in e xecuting business processes and practices.

Demonstrates up-to-date expertise and applies this to the development, execution, and improvement of action plans by providing expert advice and guidance to others in the application of information and best practices; supporting and aligning efforts to meet customer and business needs; and building commitment for perspectives and rationales.

Drives Human Resource Initiatives - Demonstrates and communicates solid working knowledge of Company, legal, and regulatory HR policies and procedures as well as local, state, and federal laws (for example, Title VII, ADA, FMLA, NLRA, Child Labor Laws, HIPAA). Upholds Company, legal, and regulatory HR policies, standards, and procedures, appropriately reporting violations as they occur. Recommends clear and concrete approaches f or improving the effectiveness of HR initiatives.

Supports Staffing Processes - Gathers relevant data and performs necessary analyses about staffing trends and talent needs. Effectively implements business plans to promote recruitment, selection, and retention. Informs Managers of issues or challenges in the implementation of plans related to s taffing initiatives in a timely manner.

Customer/Member Centered: Meet Internal and External Customer/Member Needs - Identifies the requirements, expectations, and needs of customers/members. Supports and aligns with initiatives, goals, and actions focused on improving customer/member service. Addresses the concerns and issues of internal and external customers/members. Uses customer/member data, analyses, and insights to improve customer/member-related decisions.

Judgment: Demonstrate Professional Judgment - Researches and integrates relevant information and data, and uses expertise to make recommendations or decisions. Identifies and applies sound, fact-based criteria in setting priorities and making decisions. Uses business measures and analyses to identify improvement opportunities. Probes and looks beyond symptoms to determine the root causes of problems and identify possible solutions.

M oves, lifts, carries, and places merchandise and supplies weighing up to 10 pounds without assistance.

Grasps, turns, and manipulates objects of varying size and weight, requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.

V isually inspects equipment.

V isually verifies and reads information, often in small print.

Travel
Traveling is necessary to perform one or more essential functions of this position.

Travels domestically to and from multiple facilities or work-sites during the workday.

Work Environment
Working in the following environment is necessary to perform one or more of the essential functions of this position.

Works varying shifts as required.

Entry Requirements

  • Minimum Qualifications
  • 2 years’ of college; OR 1 year’s retail experience AND 1 year’s supervisory experience; OR 2 years’ retail work experience
  • I acknowledge that the position for which I am applying will be required to successfully complete all job required trainings and assessments.

Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource Development, Human Resource Management , Industrial/Organizational Psychology, or related field; OR 2 years’ HR management responsibilities (for example, staffing, performance management, coaching and mentoring, training, compensation, promotion, investigations)

Pay: From $22.00 per hour
