Sporting Goods Sales Associate
This position is responsible for assisting in the operation of a department. An individual in this position will be expected to perform additional job related responsibilities and duties throughout the facility as assigned and/or as necessary.
Essential Functions
A n individual must be able to successfully perform the essential functions of this position with or without a reasonable accommodation.
Processes customer purchases by operating a cash register and related hardware; and using appropriate procedures for different payment types and i tems sold.
Maintains merchandise presentation in assigned area by stocking and rotating merchandise; removing damaged or out-of-date goods; setting up, c leaning, and organizing product displays; signing and pricing merchandise; and securing fragile, restricted sale, and high-shrink merchandise.
Provides customer service by acknowledging the customer; identifying customer merchandise or service needs; assisting with purchasing decisions; locating merchandise; resolving customer issues and concerns; selling and processing items requiring specified paperwork where applicable and p romoting products and services while maintaining a safe shopping environment.
Maintains assigned area in accordance with company policies and procedures, and federal, state, and local laws by handling returned or damaged merchandise; auditing assigned merchandise; zoning the sales area; arranging and organizing merchandise and supplies; identifying shrink and d amages; and ensuring a safe work environment.
Receives and stocks merchandise and supplies from distribution centers and suppliers and organizes and maintains assigned area by following company policies and procedures; utilizing pricing and scanning equipment; merchandising sales area; and completing and retaining required p aperwork, logs, and other documentation.
Complies with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity by implementing related action plans; using the Open Door Policy; a nd applying these in executing business processes and practices.
Completes work assignments and priorities by using policies, data, and resources; collaborating with managers, co-workers, customers, and other business partners; identifying priorities, deadlines, and expectations; carrying out tasks; communicating progress and information; determining and r ecommending ways to address improvement opportunities; and adapting to and learning from change, difficulties, and feedback.

Stocking/Receiving: WMH - Follows proper procedures to prevent theft and loss when stocking, receiving, maintaining, and securing goods.
Receives, stages, and delivers goods to appropriate areas throughout the Facility in a timely manner. Reports complaints and problems with products, s ervices, and conditions in the Stocking/Receiving area. Uses stocking/receiving supplies and equipment in safe and correct ways.
Point of Sale: WMH - Follows proper procedures to prevent shrink and follows applicable laws and regulations when selling items to customers.
Assists customers with payment methods, return policies, and location of items when asked. Uses the cash register and completes customers sales i n a timely manner. Reports complaints, shrink sales, and problems with products, services, and work areas.
Customer Centered: Service Area - Shows care and concern when serving our associates and customers. Asks questions in order to understand associate and customer needs. Uses policies and information in order to exceed associate and customer expectations. Finds and uses the right r esources (people, products, tools) at the right time in order to resolve associate and customer requests.
Merchandise - Completes required documentation, and helps Customers with merchandise selection in timely manner. Reports Customer issues, shrink or safety risks, and problems with merchandise products and practices. Properly cleans, maintains, and secures merchandise displays and c abinets. Reports problems and customer issues with merchandise, services, and work areas. Uses equipment and supplies safely and correctly.
Planning and Improvement: Plan for and Improve Work - Accepts responsibility and meets expectations for own work. Identifies steps needed in order to carry out work as required.
