Walnut Street Center is a growing, nonprofit Human Services agency providing support to adults with intellectual disabilities - together we Make Life More Meaningful! We are currently seeking an Assistant Director to oversee the day-to-day operations of our newest Day Program which will be opening in the Bedford, MA this summer. This person may temporarily work in our Medford Day Program while training and assisting in the recruitment and development of staff for the new program.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Ensures that program is achieving goals and standards set by Mass Health, the Department of Developmental Services (DDS), C.A.R.F., Q.U.E.S.T. and the Agency’s mission statement, including the achievement of maximum independence and community involvement.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of courses and curriculum in subject areas approved by management.
  • Ensures the program meets requirements of MassHealth regulations, including the timely completion of Day Habilitation & CBDS Service Plans (DHSP) related paperwork, maintaining all client records up to MassHealth standards, ensuring the timely collection of accurate data by program staff, attending monthly Mass Day-Hab meetings.
  • Assists with the preparation for internal and external audits and evaluations (MassHealth CARF, internal system reviews, etc.). Ensures program is consistently prepared for any scheduled or unscheduled audits and/or evaluations.
  • Serves as a liaison between the Agency, DDS Service Coordinators, guardians and support team. Ensures quality, proactive and consistent communications
  • Monitor the health and physical/mental well-being of the program participants. Responds to concerns immediately and coordinates with appropriate clinical staff to address issues.
  • Maintains a physically safe, professionally rewarding work environment
  • Maintains confidentiality by discussing individual concerns only with appropriate people in private settings as required by HIPAA and other applicable confidentiality rules and regulations.
  • Assist with regular record review and maintenance of Individuals’ confidential files, ensuring records are in compliance with Mass Health (Optum) and DDS standard.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Experience working w/ ID/DD population in Day Program Setting
  • Bachelors Degree in Human Services, Healthcare, Psychology, Social Work, and/or Non-Profit Administration
  • Knowledge of DDS and/or MassHealth regulations.
  • 3 years' of Managerial experience
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Covid-19 Vaccine Card
  • Ability to pass background checks

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $75,000.00 per year
