Summary
Responsible for total operations of coffee shop including building, sales and all other aspects of profit/loss, hiring and training of team, daily execution of safety/sanitation, quality food preparation and guest service. Responsible for cleanliness, and overall care of work environment and patron areas. The General Manager is responsible for these whether on or off the premises. Responsible for communicating and administering all company policies and procedures.
Duties and Responsibilities
- work with Regional Manager to set operating goals and objectives
- function as a working manager
- assess staffing requirements and recruit staff when needed
- train and coach staff
- prepare and implement standard operating procedures
- delegate roles to other team members to make business more efficient
- manage staff performance in accordance with established standards and procedures
- organize and monitor staff schedules
- monitor and adjust accordingly to keep labor costs around 30% or under
- co-ordinate restaurant operations during each shift
- monitor adherence to health, safety and hygiene standards in kitchen and restaurant
- ensure quality of food and beverage presentation
- observe size of food portions and preparation quantities to minimize waste
- interact with customers to ensure all inquiries and complaints are handled promptly and appropriately
- analyze food and beverage costs and choose most cost effective vendors
- maintain a focus on sales and how we can continue to grow the business
- ensure cash management procedures are completed accurately
- work with Regional Manager on setting and monitoring budgets
- analyze budget variances and take corrective actions
- implement and oversee cost cutting measures
- organize and supervise marketing and promotional activities
- identify and estimate food and beverage supply requirements and place orders
- with suppliers
- negotiate purchase prices and develop preferred suppliers
- schedule food and beverage deliveries
- Attracts patron by developing and implementing marketing, advertising, public and community relations programs; evaluating program results; identifying and tracking changing demands.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $14.50 - $20.00 per hour
