Description
Every Deli Manager is responsible for the proper and efficient operation of his/her deli, within company policy, in such a manner as to ensure that the deli contributes to the increased profitability of the company. It is the responsibility of the Deli Manager to ensure that all deli associates are properly trained, guided, and motivated to achieve maximum employment performance.
Job Knowledge and Responsibilities
- Provide initial and ongoing training/guidance to deli associates in areas of customer service, safety and security, equipment operation, cash control, and inventory control.
- Perform specific tasks as assigned by the Food Service Director, Retail Operations Director, or Store Manager.
- Operate the deli within company guidelines to achieve sales and profit goals.
- Accurately post sales, invoices, markups and markdowns, voids, and bad food write-offs within established guidelines.
- Prepare shift reports on a daily basis and enter proper information into the computer for transmission on a daily basis.
- Operate fryer safely and effectively.
- Operate food preparation equipment safely, including but not limited to meat slicer, oven, knives, etc.Service Orientation
- Project a positive image of the company, store, and deli at all times.
Communication, Collaboration, and Teamwork
- Work in a team-like fashion with other employees to accomplish goals and tasks.
- Give all customers prompt and courteous service, and ensure that deli employees do the same.
Planning, Organizing, and Accountability
- Remain current with the Personnel Manual, bulletins, memos, and other company information.
- Ensure proper sale and accounting for money orders during shifts, as described in the Operations Manual
Initiative, Problem-Solving, and Decision Making
- Schedule all shift operating hours, assign workers accordingly, and ensure all shifts are adequately covered. Meet allowed budgeted hours weekly and year to date.
- Administer disciplinary action to deli associates who are not working within the company guidelines.
- Perform annual performance reviews with deli associates.
Support the Mission of Warrenton Oil Company
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures and ensure that all deli employees do the same.
Job may require other duties as assigned.
