WAGI is seeking a Full-Time Endoscopy Technician to join our endoscopy ambulatory surgery center. The Endoscopy Technician is an unlicensed individual responsible for high level disinfection and maintenance of endoscopes and accessory equipment.
Responsibilities
- Perform proper handling and care of procedure equipment adhering to policies and procedures for scope reprocessing and high-level disinfection per manufacturer s instructions
- Preform required quality control checks per manufacturer s instructions and documents as appropriate
- Document and maintain all logbooks
- Maintain automatic endoscope reprocessor (AER), changing solutions and filters per policy
- Responsible for sterilization of equipment using an autoclave
- Transports soiled equipment from the procedure room to decontamination area
- Adheres to Universal Precautions when cleaning and disinfecting endoscopes and accessories, as well as when changing disinfection solutions
- Reports equipment malfunctions to Charge Nurse and/or Nurse Manager
- Assists with patient care under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse
- May be trained to assist the Physician with diagnostic and therapeutic procedures
- Responds to all codes and/or disasters and assists with the transporting or evacuation of patients
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- High school graduate or equivalent
- Current BLS certification required
- This is an Unlicensed Assistive Personnel (UAP) position that does not require a State license or certification
- Previous experience as an Endoscopy Technician or similar type role preferred
- Knowledge and experience working with biohazardous materials and chemicals is preferred
- Experience with sterilization of equipment preferred

Physical Activities and Requirements
- Individuals in this position will be working in our ambulatory surgery centers (Endoscopy Centers)
- Prolonged periods of standing and walking
- Ability to reach with arms/hands and lift at waist height frequently and over head occasionally
- Ability to bend, stoop, squat and kneel frequently
- Fine manipulation and grip with hands constantly
- Ability to lift 10 pounds frequently, occasional lifting 25 pounds and seldom lifting 50 pounds
Washington Gastroenterology has an excellent compensation and benefit package that includes the following:
Employees (and their families) who work full time (defined as working 30 or more hours per week) will be eligible for medical, dental, vision, long-term disability, accidental death and dismemberment, and basic life insurance. In addition employees are able to enroll in our company s 401(k) plan which includes a company provided safe harbor contribution of 3% of annual earnings and the potential for a company discretionary profit sharing contribution.
All employees will be eligible to accrue PTO at a rate of .04 hours per payroll hour (1.6 hours for a 40 hour week) which can be used for and exceeds the required mandatory WA State and other local ordinances. In addition, full time employees will be eligible for a Vacation accrual with a maximum annual accrual of 77 hours as a new hire.
WAGI has 8 standard Holidays each year for which full time employees are eligible to receive paid holiday. In addition, full time employees will be given 1 Float Holiday each year that they can schedule.
This is an hourly position and the anticipated Compensation range is $20.40 - $26.40. The hired applicant is also eligible for annual discretionary bonuses.
