Description
The professional in this role will be responsible for the day to day aspects of HR at the sites including; LMS, employee relations, policy communication and compliance, interview coordination and follow-up, coaching supervisors on employee performance management, and the escalation of issues requiring the attention of the VP of HR.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Coach supervisors on managing employee performance; counsel employees on job performance, attendance, and behavior
- Interpret, answer questions, and counsel employees on company policies.
- Develop recommendations and coordinate employee relations activities and special projects to maintain a positive employer-employee relationship and maintain morale.
- Conduct HR investigations and submit findings and recommendations to the plant leadership team.
- Coordinate responses to site unemployment claims.
- Coordinate non-exempt job placement including posting jobs, evaluating applications, interviewing candidates, scheduling skills assessments, extending offers, and onboarding
- Work closely with the Operations Trainer to coordinate and facilitate training (including new employee training) as needed.
- Assist with conducting exit interviews. Analyze findings and make recommendations to reduce turnover.
- Complete regular reports as required (e.g., headcount, overtime, attendance, organization chart, payroll discrepancy, etc.).
- 25% Travel
- This person will support various Manufacturing Plants
EXPERIENCE & REQUIREMENTS
- Strong HR Generalist background with 3-5 years as an HR Professional in a manufacturing environment; strong preference is given to candidates with at least 3 years in a Generalist role
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Detail-oriented with a high sense of urgency
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive issues professionally
- Has working knowledge of HR best practices and compliance with government and legal regulations
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s Degree preferred; comparable experience may be substituted for a degree
- PHR or SHRM CP certification is a plus.
WORK SCHEUDLE:
- Mon.- Fri.; 8 a.m.-5 p.m.
- Occasional work hours outside of normal schedule may be needed to perform the requirements of the position
