Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and knowledgeable Aerial Ladder Testing Specialist to lead the development of our new service offering in aerial ladder testing. The successful candidate will work closely with fire departments to conduct comprehensive inspections and functional tests of aerial ladders, ensuring they comply with NFPA standards. Waterway currently works with fire departments across the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast and as such, this position requires a significant amount of travel.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a service plan for aerial ladder testing that complies with all relevant NFPA standards.
- Conduct detailed inspections and operational testing of aerial ladders used by fire departments.
- Prepare and maintain detailed reports on the condition and safety of equipment tested.
- Train and oversee a team of technicians, ensuring all team members are proficient in NFPA standards and testing procedures.
- Liaise with fire department personnel to schedule and coordinate testing activities.
- Provide expert advice and consultation to fire departments on maintaining compliance with safety standards.
- Stay updated on the latest industry standards and changes in NFPA regulations.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role, with a strong understanding of aerial firefighting equipment and safety protocols.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement service offerings.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
- Proficient in the use of testing tools and technology related to aerial firefighting equipment.
- Ability to work independently and in team settings.
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
