Job Title: Legal Counsel, Real Estate

Job Summary : The Legal Counsel, Real Estate will serve as the primary supporting attorney for the Senior Legal Counsel in the management of real estate leasing, acquisition and Wawa’s real estate portfolio of existing store locations.
Principal Duties:
- Independently draft, negotiate and finalize real estate related contracts and legal instruments of the Company, specifically:
- ancillary agreements and amendments related to real estate sites in land development, including, without limitation, amendments to leases and agreements of sale, easements, restriction agreements, development agreements, closing documents, SNDAs, estoppel certificates and memoranda of lease;
- other real estate contract amendments;
- leases for training centers, parking lots and storage space;
- agreements of sale, asset purchase agreements, subleases and other closing documents related to the disposition of closed stores and excess property;
- condemnation documents, municipal agreements and other agreements related to the on-going management of the Company’s real estate;
- service contracts; and
- such other contracts as may be requested by the senior attorneys.
- Provide legal advice and support to the Senior Paralegals and Paralegals, including without limitation advice related to the closing of real estate transactions.
- Responsible for ensuring that all real estate related contract templates are consistent and updated with a view of protecting the Company’s strategic goals, standardization and efficiency.
- Work cooperatively with the senior attorneys and the Real Estate team to timely respond to contractual and other requests.
- Provide guidance and legal advice on real estate portfolio matters.
- Responsible for reviewing and negotiating other contracts and legal instruments of the Company as requested by the senior attorneys.
- Support the senior attorneys in the management of the legal affairs of the Company.
- Provide research, legal advice and other legal assistance to the senior attorneys.
- Interpret contracts, laws, rulings and regulations for the senior attorneys.

Basic Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor degree required
- Member of the Pennsylvania or New Jersey Bar
- Minimum of three (3) years of relevant real estate experience in the legal field required; major (regional or international) law firm experience preferred
- Experience in commercial real estate and corporate law preferred
- Highly skilled in Microsoft Office suite applications
