What are the responsibilities and job description for the Manager of Appliance Sales position at Wayfair?
Wayfair’s Physical Retail Team is seeking a Manager of Appliance Sales to enable Wayfair’s physical retail agenda. The Manager of Appliance Sales will be a part of the Wayfair Physical Retail Services & Experience team that will help craft the Wayfair playbook to stand up and scale stores across North America.
In this role you will work with the Senior Manager of Home Improvement and the Associate Director of Sales Experience in additional to a variety of cross-functional partners (ie. Training & Development, Merchants and various Service owners) to help build and execute an appliance selling strategy that provides a seamless, branded customer and associate sales and services experience within the appliance department of Wayfair stores. We are seeking a highly motivated, forward thinking, detail oriented collaborator who can drive execution and delivery of the customer and associate experience.
This role will be based in Boston and reports to the Senior Manager of Home Improvement. It offers significant cross functional responsibility. You will be responsible for building the appliance experience and selling journeys and how they will support the greater home improvement customer experience.
What you’ll do:
- Collaborates with the Senior Manager of Home Improvement to develop the customer journey through the appliance department and ensure it is seamlessly integrated into connected departments’ shopping experiences: kitchen reno, bathroom reno, lighting flooring in-store shopping experiences. (selling process, signage strategy)
- Cross-functionally collaborate with appliance merchants and other cross functional partners to ensure appropriate department resources are in store to effectively support the customer needs. For example, determining appropriate appliance samples, signage (specifications & appliance comparison), appliance experiences
- Maintain store sales and experience process:
- Customer facing policies exclusive to appliance categories and offerings.
- Positioning attached service offerings at strategic moments in the appliance shopping experience: Protection, Delivery, Install & Assembly
- Develop & maintain effective appliance team training that enhances the customer experience and positively impacts sales growth and operational skills.
- Support in the development of in-store business strategy, working closely with Services leadership and aligning in-store offering with services available for launch and beyond.
What you’ll need:
- 5 years home physical retail leadership experience required, with preferred home improvement & appliance experience
- Prior experience in an appliance showroom or selling environment
- Strong business management skills, with demonstrated ability to lead initiatives
- Ability to execute strategy and create iterations to bring best in class to life
- Ability to lead cross functionally and drive results
- Thrives in a high-growth, ambiguous environment where timelines are tight and stakes are high
