Coordinator, Nurse Residency Program
The Coordinator, Nurse Residency Program is responsible for creating a healthy learning environment where new graduate nurses can fulfill their highest professional potential. The Coordinator will continually assess, evaluate and manage a wide range of programmatic responsibilities including student contracts, clearance, onboarding, and orientation. Assists with hospital programs including RN extern program, RN Residency program, residency program curriculum development, program analysis and long term planning, data management and evidence based practice project development. Responsible for mentoring, training, competency validation and continuing education for new graduate nursing staff to assure smooth transition from student nurse into the professional practice role.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program
- Master's degree in Nursing or related field
- Current licensure to practice as a Registered Nurse in the state of NC
- Current BLS required
- BLS instructor certification within 12 months of hire or transfer into department
- Two years of clinical experience in acute care setting
- Strong communication skills and leadership ability
- Good organizational skills
- Critical thinking skills
