Waypoint's Homeless Youth and Young Adult Program of Manchester, NH is in need of a Full Time Shelter Supervisor. The Shelter Supervisor is a critical leadership role responsible for the day to day functioning of the Young Adult Emergency Shelter. This includes but is not limited to setting a tone and culture that is Positive Youth Development focused, emotionally and physically safe, and meets the needs of homeless youth and young adults (YYA) in a crisis-oriented, low barrier manner to the best of our ability. In addition, the Shelter Supervisor will be responsible for direct supervision of all direct service staff within the shelter operations.
Additional responsibilities also include building and maintaining relationships with community partners and working with the Site Supervisor to develop opportunities for community partners to provide within the Emergency Shelter. The Shelter Supervisor will represent Waypoint's Emergency Shelter response in the community - with media, community partners, city leaders, and stakeholders. Recruiting, orientating, and training new staff. Ensure that staff participates in FYSB required training at orientation and annually to include: Positive Youth Development, harm reduction, adolescent development, healthy relationships, boundaries, etc. The right candidate will become a Supervisor or coach by facilitating regular individual supervision with staff including reflective supervision, ongoing skill-building, annual evaluations, ongoing support and professional development planning. This role will also develop and maintain the Shelter staff schedule to ensure taht there are at least 2 staff present at all hours the Emergency Shelter is open to youth.
Minimum Job Requirements Include:
- Bachelor's Degree in a Human Services Field
- A minimum of 3 years of related experience (lived experience and expertise are looked upon favorably)
- Strong Communication and Leadership Skills with the ability to have uncomfortable conversations
- Professional with the ability to develop positive relationships
- High Level of Organization skills
- Self motivated, Passionate, bold and courageous
