Job Summary
This position is designed to accomplish the goals of the organization through the judicious application of knowledge and experience in the implementation and management of a complete plant Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) program for the Russellville, AL facility, to minimize all safety risks and reduce potential liabilities. Acts as a professional resource within the facility to other departments regarding employee safety, performs audits, employee, and contractor training, ensures environmental compliance, and leads the plant's environmental reporting and improvement efforts. The position requires technical skills and knowledge of the process as well as strong capabilities in areas of planning, scheduling, organizing, follow up and cost control. This position reports directly to the EHS Manager.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Minimum education:
PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to work an average of 40 hours per week, speak clearly so others understand, vision acuity to see details within a few feet of an observer, accepting of criticism and dealing calmly and effectively with high stress situations, sensitivity to other’s needs, positive demeanor, and model change management for the business. Must be capable of wearing personal protective equipment necessary to comply with government and company safety standards whenever engineered methods of reducing hazards or physical requirements cannot be reasonably accommodated. Job includes tasks that require walking, bending, twisting, gripping, stair and ladder climbing, entering confined spaces, navigating rough terrain and occasional lifting of up to 75 lbs. May require long periods of sitting, walking, and standing, working on a computer, or engaging in telephone conversation. Potential travel in support of EHS role

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures to continually improve safety, health & environmental impacts
- Conducts, train and track contractor and visitor site safety training to ensure compliance with site safety policies.
- Maintains FRP training spill containment and detention points
- Monitors and tracks daily air monitoring performance sheets to ensure guidelines are met
- 4orms administrator - track and assign site safety TF concerns to appropriate department / Supervisor or Manager
- Assist with managing site internal SG (GAIA) requirements
- Assist with managing all employee safety training requirements
- Assist with managing EHS calendars with periodic review
- Assist with managing EPA records of hazardous waste, air emission permitting, and water pollution discharge as well as industrial health monitoring and records of employee hazard exposure according to OSHA regulations
- Assist in development and implementation of policies and procedures to continually improve safety
- Assist in investigation of all injuries, potential hazard, and near misses and identify and document root causes, and corrective actions to closure
- Manage plant proactive safety processes: SMAT, TF-3, TF-4, TF-5
- JSA Team Lead & point of contact for employees, Supervisors and Managers.
- Assist in the management of the MOC Program
- Monitor and measure controls to comply with OSHA programs
- Tracks hazardous materials and toxic agents to comply with SAFEHEAR Program
- Ensure employee training is up to date and complete
- Actively participate in the daily production meetings
- Will be required to perform other duties as requested, directed or assigned
Minimum education:
- High School Diploma or GED
- Completion of OSHA 30 Hour Training
- Completion of POTW Training
- Must have a basic knowledge of Lean Thinking, 5-S and Six Sigma (including statistical process controls).
- Must be able to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, to all levels of the organization.
- Must be proficient in MS Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and Excel.
- Must have the ability to recognize and prioritize various tasks/projects at the same time.
- Must obtain the ability to build teams and manage change.
- Must lead by example, maintaining integrity of the EHS Management Systems
