Summary:
This position is responsible for performing audits at all We Level Up locations as instructed by the General Counsel. This is a developmental position. Perform compliance, legal, corporate, and operational (non-medical/clinical) audits, sometimes independently and sometimes as part of a team. Gather and analyze data as necessary to accomplish audit objectives in a timely manner. Execute audit programs thoroughly and diligently and perform other audit tests utilizing professional judgment, considering control objectives and risks. Develop and foster positive working relationships, focusing on the identification of solutions to risks and issues. Clearly communicate issues and pursue effective and timely resolution. Gain an increasing understanding of We Level Up businesses, organization, systems and processes, policies and procedures, accounting guidelines, and personnel.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in management, accounting, law, business administration, or related curriculum.
- Minimum of 2 years of audit or related experience, preferably in-house.
- Knowledge and skills required: Must have a sound understanding of generally accepted audit principles, and solid experience in audit procedures and audit documentation. The candidate must also possess strong analytical skills and business acumen; excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong computer skills (experience with automated audit techniques is desirable); and effective interpersonal skills.
- Additional Requirements – Occasional travel required; will average less than 15%.
Responsibilities:
- Provide input to audit planning, risk model updates, audit program development, process mapping / flowcharting, scope discussions, and draft audit reports.
- Perform audit tests applying professional judgment, with guidance as necessary from more experienced auditors. Utilize a sound understanding of the relationship between audit objectives and audit tests to focus on substantive issues.
- Conduct controls evaluations and testing for purposes of state and federal laws and regulations, as well as compliance with applicable requirements of government and non-government entities.
- Prepare workpapers that appropriately document testing, discussions, issues and conclusions. Organize workpapers logically, consistent with departmental practices.
- Demonstrate a professional approach and establish rapport with organizational contacts.
- Perform audit follow-up work as directed, with testing as necessary to validate effectiveness of corrective actions taken in response to audit recommendations
- Additional duties as assigned.
