This position is responsible for providing administrative assistance to the County Attorney’s Office.
- Prepares state petitions and files for prosecution and pre-summons.
- Prepares dockets for court.
- Prepares orders.
- Prepares declined and deferred forms.
- Prepares and types a variety of letters and memoranda.
- Files and indexes documents.
- Answers telephone and greets visitors; provides information and assistance.
- Scans and faxes documents.
- Schedules depositions and mediations.
- Prepares medical records requests.
- Attends meetings and conferences; prepares minutes.
- Attends court hearings.
- Performs any other duties as assigned.
- Must have a high school diploma or GED from an accredited institution.
- At least one ( 1 ) year of work experience in secretarial and/or legal assistant.
- Knowledge of modern office practices and procedures.
- Knowledge of legal terminology, policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of computers and job related software program.
- Skill in the analysis of problems and the development and implementation of solutions.
- Skill in the preparation of clear and precise administrative reports.
- Skill in oral and written communication.
- Ability to communicate orally and in writing in the English language and orally in the Spanish language.
